The show is also airing later on Saturday and Sunday. Just check the radio stations out on that website that have a speaker on them (internet broadcast).

PS- I did send an email to the yahoo address on your site but maybe that has changed. I don't think I'll be able to make shell creek since I'm taking my oldest son out for his birthday tonight and were going on a dinner cruise out of Clearwater. Anna and I may venture down later in the morning just to see what it's like, but we will see how we feel in the morning :)

Anna and I had a tough time in November. We found some decent fish on a submerged point prefishing but the cold front moving through and high winds made it very difficult to fish. The bigger fish were hitting crankbaits when we practised but I only had one fish about 3 pounds on it which came unbuttoned just as I was horsing it around the trolling motor. Anna also had another decent fish on a Carolina rig come off in that area.

Our other area was crowded so we elected not to fish there. At about 12:30 Anna put our only keeper in the boat on a Carolina rigged junebug trickworm about 100 yards from the boat ramp. We continued there with no more keepers. Thank God for my partner! I see Tom and Penny came in 3rd, good job!

Sorry I'm late but here's what Anna and I did to pattern the fish in Lake Manatee. We worked a 7-8 foot flat on the shore opposite Gileys Creek mouth. We found the fish a week before and saw some busting the top, but only for a short time. Prefishing we caught them on both crankbaits and Carolina rigged trick worms in Junebug (our favorite).

On tournament day the crankbait bite (#9 shadrap) was gone, but we were catching them on the Junebug Carolina rig with 3/4 oz egg weight, 2/0 Gammie offset hook and the typical bead and barrel swivel. After we culled a few, I switched over to a 10" ribbon tailed junebug Zoom worm to try to get bigger fish to hit. Well one did and it pulled hard. I thought it may have been a catfish at first, but it broke water and looked around 7 pounds or more. It jumped one more time, and I had it tired and was pulling it towards the boat while it was on top and the hook pulled out. Ouch!!! I found out that the 2/0 Gammie slightly straightened (it was thinner wire). My fault as I had the drag set too tight at first and when she surged it must have bent the hook. I was loosening the drag during the fight and actually freespooling at times, but that 1st surge probably already did the damage.

Anna had one about 4 pounds on, but it jumped about 5 foot from the boat and came off. We caught quite a few fish and had a lot of fun. The key was the flat near the river channel bend which had some scattered timber (small amount but could be felt on the rod).

This just goes to show you that if you study the area you are fishing closely enough you don't have to go far from the ramp to catch fish as we had no choice with only being able to use the 'lectric since I can't fire up the 150 VMax (dang). I wish the counties would allow no wake on Manatee and Apac just to save my battery power but it'll probably never happen.

I think we are ready for Apac but if the weather changes too much the fish we found may just disappear. Keeping our fingers crossed for some more great weather like we've had the last few weeks!!

If you need some help on catching bass visit my sites in my signature as I hold no secrets. I do make an exception when Anna and I are prefishing in that the spots don't get revealed until after the tournament. Take Care everyone and many Thanks to Tom and Penny for putting on a good local bass fishing trail. Give Mr. B's a visit as they are stocking up on some good lures and hardware. They have my favorite Gammie hooks (Gamakatsu) in the offset style. You just have to rig them correctly to get good hooksets. I've lost very few over the years since switching to these hooks :)

Just want to tell everyone what the fish were hitting and where on the Braden river during the tournament. Anna and I fished the 1st aerator in the cove by the water station and had our limit by 11 AM. We fished a junebug Zoom trickworm Carolina style with 3/4 ounce sinker.

We then went to the pad field just across from the end of Jiggs landing point out in the main lake. We culled one with Anna's catch of 2 pounder using a Texas rigged Junebug. I missed about 3 fish there working the small cuts in the pad field.

I like to share information as long as it's after the tournament so everyone can do more catching with less fishing :)

[Test Forum] Need Volunteers for Bass Fishing Clinic

We are looking for some volunteers to give a bass fishing clinic for newbies (kids and adults). The clinic will be an instructional one in Sarasota probably at Mr. B's then perhaps finishing at Apac. The topics will be equipment, lures, how to's, spots to fish, and anything related to bass fishing.

The purpose of the clinic is to promote the sport here in Sarasota/Manatee as well as give Mr. B's more exposure since they are one of the last freshwater only tackle shops around.

Please post here if interested and send me a msg with your phone number so I can talk to you one on one...Thanks
